IBM Hortonworks Red HatA new joint project from IBM, Hortonworks and Red Hat will enable organizations to run big data workloads across edge, multicloud and on-premises architectures while gaining the benefits of hybrid cloud: agility, economics and scale.

“Not only will this initiative bring cloud native to the data center, but it will also help our customers embrace and master the unified hybrid architectural model that is required to get the full benefits of on-premises, cloud and edge computing,” Hortonworks co-founder Arun Murthy told Computer Business Review.

IBM will work with Hortonworks and Red Hat to climatize data platform offerings for a container system. Last year, IBM and Hortonworks announced that they would combine Hortonworks Data Platform with IBM Data Science Experience and IBM Big SQL into new integrated solutions.

“This partnership will provide an integrated and open data science and machine learning platform that lets teams easily collaborate and operationalize data science,” Rob Thomas, GM of IBM Analytics, said of the new collaboration with Hortonworks and Red Hat.
