I have the potential to get involved in some beginning PBI/data visualization work at my current job but only have a basic understanding of RDBMS/SQL, data vis tools, stats, etc. Apart from a formal degree (which I'm not sure exists anyway) what are some recommended courses (online, in person at a community college, anything, etc), books, etc to help me get a leg up—or is it mostly a matter of diving in w/ raw data sets and learning hands on? I don't have a CS/heavy math background (not my strong suit) but am willing to put in a fair amount of effort if that's not critical.

I've done some of the Microsoft coursework, PluralSight, Lynda.com, etc but the examples are usually highly specific to THAT example and don't really teach fundamentals..

Any advice or recs?

Thank you!
