In recent years there has been a huge rise in automation technology, such as AI and IoT, with the use of robots having risen significantly between 2016 and 2017. According to Statista, a European research and statistics agency, the worldwide shipment of robots rose from 294,000 to 387,000 in just one year.
Alongside this big increase in industrial robot usage, many companies are also exploring robotics in our everyday lives too, with big data, cloud computing and automated technology being developed to make our lives easier at home.
Where are robots being used?
Much of the rise in robot usage between 2016 and 2017 can be attributed to production lines and industry, but many companies have also introduced more AI technology into their services too.
